When does the programme take place?

There are 4 editions:

  • Edition 1: July 8th to 26th, 2024
  • Edition 2: September 23rd to October 11th, 2024
  • Edition 3: July 7tht to 25th, 2025 (ENG)
  • Edition 4: September 15th to October 3rd, 2025

The first weekend of each edition will consist of a weekend in nature. The location of the weekend varies per edition. The announcement of these locations will happen soon.

How much time will I need?

For the programme, we have carefully considered how much time you spend in each phase of Nature behind the Wheel. Here is our estimate:

  • Phase 1: Welcome day and 4 workshops (2.5 days)
  • Phase 2: Long weekend submerged in nature (3 days)
  • Phase 3: Volunteering and walk with a business decision-maker (1.5 days)
  • Phase 4: Closing event and reflection (1.5 days)

What are the costs to participate in the programme?

Participation is completely free for everyone aged 18-30 years and your public transport costs are reimbursed!

Who is the program intended for?

Anyone between the ages of 18 and 30 can register for Nature behind the Wheel. Everyone is welcome: students from MBO, HBO to WO and from firefighters to lawyers to teachers or salespeople.

By when should I register?

Different deadlines apply for registration for each edition:

  • Edition 1: May 31, 2024 Extend to June 15th!
  • Edition 2: August 15, 2024
  • Edition 3: June 23, 2025
  • Edition 4: September 1, 2025

Do I need to speak Dutch?

3 of the 4 editions are for Dutch-speaking participants only. The edition in English will be the 3rd edition, which will take place in July 2025. This edition is suitable for internationals who do not speak Dutch or do not speak it sufficiently – it is required to have a BSN number.

How many people participate in the programme?

In total, we have space for 45 participants per edition. During the activities, the group is divided into smaller groups of 5 people.

Where does the programme take place?

The programme is both online and offline.

The starting day and closing day are both in Amsterdam. The remaining workshops will be online on Teams.

The location for the weekend in nature varies per edition:

  • Edition 3: Schoorl
  • Edition 4: Vierhouten

The volunteer work and the conversation with decision-makers will take place at locations to be decided upon yourself.

Is there a selection?

The purpose of the intake interview is to get to know you better and to see together whether the Nature behind the Wheel programme suits you. Based on this, we decide together whether there is a match.
